Brazil is a wonderful country which has a maze of beautiful cities that each have distinct attractions and characteristics that make them all unique in their own right. Some of the more popular cities in Brazil are Sao Paulo, Curitiba and Belem. Let’s see what makes them so special.

Sao Paulo

Sao PauloThis is one of the largest cities in Brazil and South America. It is known as the cultural capital of the country. The locals fondly refer to Sao Paulo as Sampa. Sampa may not be as intensely rich in natural resources and amazing sights as Rio de Janeiro, but it more than makes up for it by being the cultural hub of teh country.

Here in Sampa, you have a vast array of galleries, museums, concerts, exciting dance and theater shows. If you enjoy catching a dinner show, this is the best place to go. There is always something being presented in Sampa by the Paulistanos. This is how the residents refers themselves.

Paulistanos are great believers in hard work, hard play which is why the nightlife in Sao Paulo is one of the busiest in all of Brazil. There are many bars, nightclubs, and restaurants that stay open until the wee hours of the morning. Credit also goes to them for in spite of the pollution, traffic and street violence incidents, the locals would never dream of leaving their city for another.

Sampa was founded in 1554 by the Jesuits but it was not until the 19th century when Sampa began to show its true colors and shine as an emerging market. With the boom in Sampa’s economy. Many Brazilian immigrated to Sampa to find work in the trains, construction, and factories. This made Sampa the leader in the commercial and industrial hub of Brazil. It also added to the diverse flavor of the city.

Curitiba

CuritibaLife in Curitiba may not be a hectic and hurried as in the larger cities of Brazil. Here, the locals enjoy life, know how to relax and take it comfortably. Life here is not as fast paced as in other cities like Sampa and Rio de Janeiro, nevertheless, it is enjoying a robust economy.

Since the 1970s, the city government has been firm in addressing the city problems like pollution, poverty, and homelessness. To some extent, there are marked improvements in the way of life of most locals. In fact, travel to and around Curitiba has surpassed any other Brazilian city as far as reliability and effectiveness are concerned.

Belem

This city in Brazil is not as developed as Sampa, but it is an amazing place to go because everything here is more personalized than in the bigger cities. There are quite a number of museums, parks and monuments to see.

Belem is more like an emerging rural area that has an energized night life and shows – but all on a smaller scale than in Sampa or Rio de Janeiro.
